The terms, written plainly.
Last updated August 2026 · A working draft, not yet reviewed by counsel
These are the terms of using The Correspondence Company. They're written to be read, not skimmed past. The short version: you bring the words, we handle them with care, and neither of us surprises the other.
What we sell
Letter kits: an organizer invites people to each write one letter, the letters are gathered sealed — online or by post, depending on the kit — and we assemble them by hand into a keepsake and deliver it. Prices are shown before you pay, and payment happens on our payment provider's secure checkout. Nothing is charged until you approve your finished kit for assembly.
The seal is a promise both ways
Letters are sealed the moment they're sent. Nobody reads them early — not the organizer, and not us, except the one moment fulfillment requires: placing each letter into the keepsake. Every such access is logged. In turn, you agree the words are yours to give: don't submit letters you don't have the right to share, and don't use the service to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
Your words stay yours
You keep all rights to everything written. We get only the narrow, temporary license needed to print, assemble, and deliver it. We never use letter content for marketing, analytics, or training anything.
Paying, changing your mind, and things going wrong
- Approval is the purchase: once you approve and pay, assembly begins by hand.
- Before anything ships, contact us and we'll make it right — including a refund if we haven't started assembly.
- If a keepsake arrives damaged or wrong, tell us within 30 days and we'll repair, replace, or refund it.
- Handwritten letters mailed to us travel at the postal service's mercy; we track every envelope from arrival onward.
Your data
The privacy page is part of these terms. The commitments there — sealed letters, addresses purged after delivery, no third-party trackers, delete-your-data on request — are contractual, not decorative.
The edges
We're a small company making physical things by hand. We'll always do what we say, but our liability for anything beyond that is limited to what you paid for the order in question. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced before they apply to anything you've already bought.
A note on this draft. These terms are written plainly on purpose and will be reviewed by counsel before the shop opens. If anything here reads as unclear or unfair, write to us — that's a bug.
